MANA's Story
OUR BEGINNING
Back in 2018, we were inspired to create products for the modern Filipino. We explored Marikina - the shoe capital of the Philippines. This is where we met Mang Jhun, our partner artisan who's been with us for 3 years now. He has decades of experience, and handcrafts each piece using the skills passed onto him.
MEET MANG JHUN
Mang Jhun comes from a family of shoemakers. They were one of the first to set up shop in Marikina during the 1970s. At the age of 7, he began observing his parents at work, which sparked his interest to learn shoemaking as well. Mang Jhun fell in love with this craft because it's an art form in itself. It challenges him creatively, and has provided for his family for several generations.
